FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas cornerback LaDarrius Bishop will miss the remainder of the season with a knee injury, coach Sam Pittman said Monday.

Bishop, a redshirt senior, has not played since Arkansas’ 44-30 victory over South Carolina on Sept. 10. Pittman said Bishop had cartilage repaired in his knee and will require three to four months of recovery.

He has one season of eligibility remaining.

“It was loose and they were able to sew it back in there and repair it,” Pittman said, “so that’s what we wanted to do for him.”

Bishop struggled during the season opener against Cincinnati when he was the nearest defender on two long passes, including one for a touchdown. He posted grades of 29.3 against Cincinnati and 66.8 against South Carolina, according to Pro Football Focus.

Bishop’s PFF grade of 51.3 this season was down from 57.7 last year and a career-best 71.7 in 2020.

The Ashdown native is the second Arkansas defensive back who has been lost for the season. Safety Jalen Catalon, a preseason All-American, suffered a shoulder injury during the season opener that required surgery.
