Hornsby transferring to Texas State

Former Arkansas quarterback Malik Hornsby announced his transfer destination on Monday.

Hornsby has committed to Texas State, according to a post to his Twitter account. He stated plans to transfer from the Razorbacks on Nov. 28 and officially entered the transfer portal on Dec. 5.

Hornsby completed 13 of 27 passes for 268 yards for Arkansas in 2022. He threw for 234 yards, 1 touchdown and 2 interceptions in the Razorbacks’ loss at Mississippi State on Oct. 8, then finished 4 of 9 through the air for 24 yards in a home start against LSU in November.

The redshirt sophomore rushed 31 times for 172 yards, as well, including 114 yards against the Bulldogs on 8 carries.

According to 247 Sports, Hornsby was the No. 5 dual-threat quarterback in the country in his recruiting class. He initially signed with Arkansas over scholarship offers from Alabama, Auburn, Florida State, Georgia and other programs.

Former Razorbacks defensive back Myles Slusher flipped his commitment from Louisville to Colorado on Sunday. He initially committed to the Cardinals on Dec. 19.
