Arkansas forward Connor Vanover (23) shoots over Gardner-Webb's Zion Williams during a game Saturday, Nov. 13, 2021, in Fayetteville.

A former Arkansas basketball player under Eric Musselman is transferring back to the SEC.

Connor Vanover, who played two seasons for the Razorbacks, announced Sunday night that he has committed to Missouri. Vanover spent the 2022-23 season at Oral Roberts after transferring from Arkansas.

He played his freshman season at California.

“I chose Missouri because of fit and style of play,” Vanover told On3. “They have one of the top offenses in America and I am excited to be a part of what Coach [Dennis] Gates is building in Columbia. I loved my visit meeting and spending time with staff.

“I feel my unique skill set can help complement many areas.”

Listed at 7-5, according to Oral Roberts’ official website, the Little Rock native last season averaged 12.7 points and 7.2 rebounds per game for the Golden Eagles, and he blocked 108 shots.

Vanover, who will play at his fourth school in 2023-24, earned Summit League newcomer of the year and defensive player of the year. He averaged 3.1 blocks per game in league play.

Missouri is coming off a solid first season under Gates, who came to the Tigers after three seasons in charge of Cleveland State. Missouri finished the 2022-23 season at 25-10 overall and 11-7 in SEC play.

The Tigers advanced to the second round of the NCAA Tournament following a first-round victory over Utah State, then fell to Princeton.

According to On3, Vanover is Missouri's fifth transfer commitment this spring.
