Razorbacks stay put in coaches poll

FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas remained ranked eighth in the USA Today Baseball Coaches Poll on Monday. 

The Razorbacks (9-2) went 4-0 last week in games against Illinois State and Wright State. Arkansas swept a three-game series against Wright State, the pre-season favorite in the Horizon League, by scores of 12-2, 12-6 and 6-2. 

Arkansas is scheduled to play four home games this week beginning with a 3 p.m. game against Army on Tuesday. The Razorbacks are scheduled to play Louisiana Tech three times beginning Friday. 

It is the 79th consecutive coaches poll to include the Razorbacks, dating to 2017. They have been ranked in the top 10 in 34 of the last 35 polls. 

Arkansas is one of 10 SEC teams ranked this week. Six SEC teams are ranked in the top nine. 

No. 1 LSU and No. 2 Tennessee held the top two spots in the poll, followed by SEC teams Ole Miss (5), Florida (6), Arkansas, Vanderbilt (9), Alabama (18), Texas A&M (19), South Carolina (20) and Auburn (25). 

Oklahoma State is ranked 14th and TCU is ranked 16th. The Razorbacks lost 18-6 to TCU and defeated Oklahoma State 18-1 at the College Baseball Showdown last month.
