Mallett earns Walter Camp Player of Week

Arkansas quarterback Ryan Mallett, who was winless in all four SEC road starts in the 2009 season, is looking to improve that mark this year. In the four games, Mallett completed only 39.3 percent of his passes, compared to 68.3 percent in seven home games.

Razorback Ryan Mallett is player of the week, the Walter Camp Football Foundation announced Sunday.

The quarterback's 380 yards of passing and three touchdowns steered the Hogs to a 31-24 win over Georgia on Saturday afternoon.

The Texarkana, Ark., native's throw to Greg Childs for a 40-yard scoring play with 15 seconds on the clock clinched victory for Arkansas.

The Walter Camp Football Foundation will honor one offensive and one defensive player as its national Bowl Subdivision player of the week during the regular season. It's in its seventh year. A panel of national media chooses the players.
