Pitcher Dallas Keuchel (Arkansas Razorbacks) was promoted by the Houston Astros to Class AAA Oklahoma City. Keuchel went 9-7 with a 3.17 ERA this season for Class AA Corpus Christi. He has been impressive in his last 10 starts, going 6-2 with a 2.85 ERA. Keuchel lost his last start for Corpus Christi on July 30, allowing 3 runs (all earned) on 4 hits with 1 walk and 5 strikeouts in 6 1/3 innings at Midland.

San Diego Padres pitcher Dustin Moseley (Texarkana) had season-ending surgery on his non-throwing shoulder on Wednesday. He had been on the disabled list since July 26 after dislocating his left shoulder while hitting a single. Moseley was 3-10 with a 3.30 ERA in 20 starts during his first season in San Diego.

Outfielder Matthew Johnson (Arkansas Tech) has voluntarily retired from the Tampa Bay Rays organization. He hit .221 in 32 games for the Rays’ Rookie League team in the Gulf Coast League. Johnson’s last appearance with the team was on July 29, but he did not compile any statistics.

Outfielder Jacob Julius (Arkansas Razorbacks/Fayetteville) has been demoted by the Baltimore Orioles from high Class A Frederick to low Class A Delmarva. Julius batted .170 in 77 games for Frederick and first appeared with Delmarva on Tuesday.

Outfielder Collin Kuhn (Arkansas Razorbacks) has been promoted by the Chicago White Sox from Rookie League Bristol to low Class A Kannapolis. Kuhn batted .260 in 31 games for Bristol.

Pitcher Drew Benes (Arkansas State) has been promoted by the St. Louis Cardinals from low Class A Batavia to Class A Quad Cities. Benes went 1-1 with a 3.15 ERA in 6 games for Batavia. He won his first start with Quad City on Wednesday, giving up 6 runs (4 earned) on 7 hits with 5 walks and 6 strikeouts in 7 1/3 innings against Cedar Rapids.

WHO’S HOT BRETT EIBNER (Arkansas Razorbacks) saw his batting average rise to .220. In 21 at-bats during 6 games, Eibner scored 6 runs on 9 hits, including 2 home runs and 2 doubles, with 4 RBI.

DON LISI (Rogers) picked up 2 victories and saw his ERA drop .78. He is 5-1 this season with a 4.11 ERA. Lisi pitched 11 combined innings in the 2 victories, allowing 9 hits, no walks and 11 strikeouts.

WHO’S NOT JAROD MCKINNEY (Arkansas Razorbacks) saw his batting average drop to .194. In 10 at-bats during 3 games, McKinney scored 1 run on 1 hit with 1 stolen base.

ANDREW FERGUSON (Arkansas State) suffered his first loss of the season and saw his ERA rise 1.23. He is 0-1 this season with a 5.23 ERA. Ferguson pitched 2 2/3 innings in 2 games this week, allowing 9 hits with 2 walks and 1 strikeout.
