Waithe doubtful for Auburn game

— Arkansas Coach Mike Anderson said senior forward Marvell Waithe is doubtful for Wednesday night’s game against Auburn after straining his left calf Saturday in the Razorbacks’ 66-64 victory over Michigan.

“I don’t think I’m going to play, but hopefully the guys bring the energy we need and we’ll pick it up,” Waithe said.

Waithe, who averaged 8.5 points in the 10 games prior to Michigan, said he has been walking around in a boot.

“I can’t really jump or do anything right now, but I’ll be back,” he said. “It’s just a strain. It wasn’t a tear.”

Freshman guard BJ Young, who had his right hand wrapped in ice after taking a hard fall when he was knocked down by Michigan’s Zack Novak going up for a dunk attempt, said his hand is still “a little swollen” but that he’ll be ready to play against Auburn.

“My back took more of the pain afterwards, like a day later,” Young said. “I’m just taking care of that and trying to get over it.”
