Monday recruiting tidbits

NWA Media/MICHAEL WOODS --03/30/2013-- Defensive line coach Charlie Partridge's recruiting tactics have served him well.

Defensive lineman Edgar Cerenord, 6-1 1/2, 290, 5.2 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Plantation, (Fla.) American Heritage said he's looking to visit Arkansas in the summer. He recently received an offer from the Hogs. His lead recruiter, defensive line coach Charlie Partridge recruited him while at Wisconsin.

Cerenord said he's been timed at 4.52 seconds in the pro-shuttle.

Offensive lineman Victor Nieves, 6-4, 320, 5.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Dothan, (Ala.) Northview said he planned to visit for Arkansas' spring game but won't be able to make it. He plans to visit during the summer. He said his teammate, defensive back Marice Fluellen will visit for the spring game.

Nieves said he has an offer from Jacksonville State but believes Arkansas and Florida State are close to offering.

As previously reported, running back Sione Palelei, 5-10, 197, 4.35 seconds on the 40 yard dash , of Gonzales East Ascension plans to visit Arkansas for the spring game. His parents will accompany him.

He has offers from Arkansas, Southern Miss, Louisiana-Monroe, Louisiana Tech, Brigham Young , Utah and Hawaii.

Pine Bluff kicker Austin McGehee said he's didn't miss a field goal and kicked a 55 yarder off the ground while Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman was at his school today. He said he also had two 70 yard plus kickoffs.
