Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Highly recruited defensive end Solomon Thomas plans to visit Arkansas on Saturday.

One of the nation's top defensive end prospects, Solomon Thomas has confirmed he will attend Arkansas' spring game on Saturday.

Thomas, 6-3, 256 4.7 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Coppell, Texas has 36 scholarship offers, including Arkansas, Texas, Alabama, Texas A&M and Oklahoma. He was recently named the defensive line MVP at the Dallas Nike Camp and will compete at The Opening at Nike Headquarters in Oregon June 30-July 3.

Thomas, who's rated the No. 88 prospect in the nation by national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network, visited the Hogs during Easter weekend.

Quarterback David Cornwell, 6-5, 235 of Norman, (Okla.) North said he spoke to Arkansas offensive coordinator Jim Chaney today and Chaney will visit his school next Thursday to watch him throw.

Cornwell recently received an invite to the Elite 11 national event at Nike Headquarters in Oregon this summer after his performance at the Dallas Elite 11 competition. His his father visited Arkansas in March while in town for a business trip and came away impressed. The Hogs have not offered.

North Little Rock high school basketball coach Johnny Rice has confirmed junior point guard Anton Beard has transferred to North Little Rock and will play his senior season for the Charging Wildcats. He played the last two season at Little Rock Parkview.

Cornerback Grant Haley, 5-10, 180, 4.52 of Lovett high School in Atlanta said he received an offer from Arkansas on Monday. He said he plans to visit in late May. He has five other offers, Florida, South Carolina, Tennessee, Vanderbilt and Georgia Tech. Cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson is his lead recruiter. Video highlights click here

Fort Smith Southside quarterback Isaac Jackson received an offer from Louisiana-Monroe today. He also has an offer from Arkansas State.

Former Bryant running back Madre London, who now attends Ft. Lauderdale, (Fla) St Thomas Aquinas, now has eight offers after Nebraska extended one tonight.

Arkansas running back target Shai McKenzie of Washington, Pennsylvania ran a 10.68 time in the 100 meters today. Video highlights click here

Offensive lineman Jackson Morrison, 6-3, 285, 5.09 of Maryville, Missouri plans to attend Arkansas' spring game. He has recorded a 385 bench press, 520 squat, 360 power clean and a 28.5 vertical. Video highlights click here
