Saturday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas linebackers coach Randy Shannon, a former Miami Hurricanes head coach, will be key in the Razorbacks' attempt to land prospects from Miami.

Manny Navarro of the Miami Herald reported earlier offensive lineman Denver Kirkland's stepfather said Miami asst. coach Michael Barrow contacted him at 11 am eastern time today to set up a meeting with Hurricanes coach Al Golden at 3 today. It appeared Miami was out of the picture after it looked like Miami pulled Kirkland's offer.

Arkansas is recruiting Korliss Marshall of Osceola as a safety. He's visiting the Razorbacks this weekend and will likely commit to the Hogs.

As reported on Friday, 2014 guard-forward Riley Norris of Albertville, Ala. will not be able to attend Arkansas' game against Tennessee today. He plans to reschedule.

Norris has numerous offers, including one from the Hogs.
