Monday recruiting tidbits

Raymond Wingo

Cornerback Raymond Wingo will arrive about noon today for his visit to Arkansas. His mother and father along with about six other family members will accompany him.

Wingo, 6-1, 174, 4.31 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of St. Louis University High School has about 14 offers, including Arkansas, Nebraska, Missouri and Tennessee. His brother, Ronnie is also expected to make the visit too.

Running back Kevin Shorter of Newton, Texas visited Arkansas this weekend and left early this morning. He drove up with his cousin and cornerback D.J. Dean, who reported to this weekend. This was Shorter's second visit to the Hogs.

There will be updates from The Opening at Nike Headquarters today. It was my understanding we would access to the athletes on Sunday but that wasn't the case. That's the reason for no Sunday updates. The event outsourced the handling of the media and there has been some confusion about when the athletes would be available to the media.

The media will get 15 minutes with the athletes this morning and suppose to get more interview time after the SPARQ combine is finished later tonight.
