Hogs go North for O-lineman

Offensive lineman Frank Ragnow had an excellent visit to Arkansas.

Arkansas has reached up to Minnesota and offered a scholarship to offensive lineman Frank Ragnow, who's now up to 13 offers.

Ragnow, 6-6, 291, 5.0 seconds in the 40 yard dash of Victoria Chanhassen High School said he's been communicating with offensive line graduate assistant Eric Mateos on Facebook for quite some time.

On Tuesday, he was told to call offensive line coach Sam Pittman and was given an offer.

" He talked about the school and everything," said Ragnow of Pittman. "He told me he loved my film."

Pittman visited his school last Friday.

"He originally wanted me to come to cam but once he saw me he knew I was a guy they wanted to offer," Ragnow said. " They all agreed they wanted to offer me a scholarship. I talked to coach (Bret) Bielema about his past and then about how both coaches had sent so many linemen to the NFL and how Arkansas has such great fans."

Ragnow, who has a 345 pound bench press and 475 squat, is a fan of Pittman's approach to recruiting.

"He's really straight up which I like to see in a coach," said Ragnow, who reports he'll visit the Razorbacks this summer. "He doesn't beat around the bush and is really to the point. "

In addition to Arkansas, he has offers from Vanderbilt, Missouri, Florida State, Minnesota, Nebraska and others. Academics and comfort level will factor into his future college plans.

"Somewhere I feel the most comfortable with the coaching staff and with the campus and the team," Ragnow said. "And then somewhere I'm set up to be the most successful as an individual and the team is set up to be successful."

He praised Mateos for staying in touch with him.

"He usually messages me on Facebook almost every day," Ragnow said. "Asking what's up and how I'm doing and asking I feel about Arkansas and everything."
