— San Diego Padres second baseman Logan Forsythe hit a home run in his first at-bat of the season Monday night.

Forsythe, a first-round draft pick out of Arkansas in 2008, was reinstated from the 60-day disabled list earlier in the day. He finished the game against Atlanta 2-for-2 with an RBI and two runs scored. He also drew a walk.

To make room for Forsythe on the 40-man roster, the Padres designated catcher John Baker for assignment Monday.

Forsythe was placed on the 15-day DL before the season with plantar fasciitis in his right foot. He was transferred to the 60-day DL on April 24.
