— Former Arkansas sprinter Tyson Gay won both the 100-meter dash and the 200-meter dash at the 2013 USA Outdoor Track and Field Championships in Des Moines, Iowa this weekend.

Gay won the 100-meter dash Friday with a time of 9.75 seconds. On Sunday, the 30-year-old Gay won his second title at the event by running the 200-meter dash in 19.74 seconds, more than a tenth of a second faster than second-place finisher Isaiah Young. Both times are the fastest in the world so far this season.

“I’m pretty tired,” Gay said. “I’m just glad I’m leaving the race healthy. It feels good, man.”

Another former Arkansas sprinter, Wallace Spearmon, raced in the 200-meter dash, but finished in fourth place with a time of 20.10 seconds. The top-three finishers in each event qualify for the IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia.

Former Razorback runner Regina George will join Gay in Moscow, Russia, but she will represent Nigeria in the 400 meters and the 4x400 relay at the IAAF World Championships. She qualified by winning the Nigerian national title at 400 meters at the 2013 All Nigeria Athletics Championships.

The IAAF World Championships in Moscow, Russia will take place August 10-18.
