Report: Young to Rockets' summer league team

BJ Young was not selected in the 2013 NBA draft on Thursday.

— Former Arkansas guard BJ Young will play for the Houston Rockets' summer league team, according to Alex Kennedy, who writes for the USA Today's Hoops World.

Young, 6-foot-3, 180 pounds, was not selected in the 2013 NBA draft. He submitted his name for the draft in March, foregoing his junior and senior seasons at Arkansas.

The St. Louis native also entered the 2012 draft after averaging 15.3 points, 3.1 rebounds and 2.3 assists in 25.2 minutes as a freshman but withdraw his name to return to Arkansas.

Young led the team in scoring for the second consecutive season last year, averaging 15.2 points per game. He also led the team in assists (102 assists, 3.3 per game) and averaged 3.5 rebounds per game. Young was a member of the All-Southeastern Conference second team in back-to-back seasons and was also on the All-SEC freshman team in 2012.

The Rockets have another former Razorback guard, Patrick Beverley, on their roster. Beverley signed a multi-year deal with Houston in January and contributed off the bench in the regular season, but worked his way into the starting lineup for five of the Rockets' six playoff games and averaged 33.3 minutes, 11.8 points, 5.5 rebounds and 2.8 assists per game in the postseason.
