Sunday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas filled the mailbox of cornerback prospect Raymond Wingo over the weekend.

Arkansas cornerback prospect Raymond Wingo of St. Louis University High School won the district 100 meters title with a 10.81 seconds into a headwind. He has a best of 10.64 seconds this track season.

Wingo, 6-1, 174, 4.31 is a high priority of the Hogs. Defensive coordinator Chris Ash is expected to visit his school on Thursday.

Defensive tackle Bijhon Jackson, an Arkansas commitment, said he'll probably attend Arkansas' June camp.

Running back Joe Mixon, another Hog prospect, won the district 100 meters title with a time of 10.83.

Mixon, 6-2, 210, 4.5 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Oakley, (Ca.) Freedom has said he plans to visit Arkansas.

Arkansas signee Bobby Portis will report to Arkansas May 27 He's been a on a six week workout plan from Arkansas since coming back from the Nike Hoop Summit in Portland and has seen an increase in strength. He said he and center Moses Kingsley, another Hog signee, will be roommates. Portis is up to 231 pounds.

Cornerback D.J. Dean won the Class 2A 400 meter title with a 48.85 time on Saturday. Dean, who signed with Arkansas in February, teamed up with his cousin and running back Kevin Shorter to help Newton High School in Texas to the 4x100 meter replay title with a 41.70 time.

Shorter has the Hogs in his top three along with Texas A&M and LSU.

Highlights of power forward/center Tory Miller, 6-8, 242 pounds of New Hampton Prep in New Hampshire. He recently received a scholarship offer from Arkansas and plans to make an unofficial visit to Fayetteville on June 16.

Miller, the nephew of former Arkansas guard Clint McDaniel, has about 10 offers, including Marquette and Tennessee being the latest. He attended Lee's Summit North High School in Missouri before going to prep school.
