Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Defensive lineman Abu Lamin plans to visit Arkansas on Monday.

Defensive lineman Abu Lamin, 6-5, 290, 4.86 of Fort Scott Community College in Kansas said he plans to visit Arkansas with his defensive line coach Richard Johnson next week. The Hogs offered him last Monday or Tuesday. He said he's hit it off with offensive line coach Sam Pittman and has fallen in love with Arkansas despite not visiting the campus. He said South Carolina offered him on Monday to go with other offers from North Carolina State, Southern Miss and Ball State.

Lamin has told himself he won't commit on his Arkansas visit but an amazing visit that makes him feel at home could convince him to do so. Video highlights click here

Defensive lineman Matt Dickerson, 6-5, 275, 4.9 of San Mateo, California, Junipero Serra has 12 offers, including Arkansas and plans to visit the Hogs Aug. 1. He thinks highly of running backs coach Joel Thomas. His father is from Gurdon and played at football Henderson State before moving to California at the age of 19. He has numerous family members in Arkansas where he comes back about every year. He loves to hunt and fish. Video highlights click here

Linebacker Jimmie Swain, 6-3, 230, 4.51 of Lee's Summit, Mo. said he's in the process of learning about Arkansas from offensive coordinator Jim Chaney after receiving an offer from the Razorbacks a few weeks ago. Once he gets more information, he'll decide whether or not to visit. Until this year, he ran track and competed in the 200, 400, 4x200 relay and the 4x400. He said he had a a time of about 50 seconds in the 400 last year while weighing about 205 pounds.

Arkansas offensive line coach Sam Pittman visited Warren High School on Monday to watch offensive lineman Jhamahl Bell.

Word is Razorback receivers coach Michael Smith and linebackers coach Randy Shannon visited River Ridge, (La.) John Curtis Christian on Monday to watch Linebacker Kenny Young, receiver Malachi Dupre, defensive backs Terrence Alexander and Mattrell McGraw.
