CB prospect Lammons embraces leadership role

Cornerback Chris Lammons plans to visit Hogs this summer.

Arkansas cornerback prospect Chris Lammons takes his role of being a team captain serious and believes actions speak louder than words.

"My definition of a leader is someone who leads by example," he said. "You can lead verbal but if you tell someone to do something and you're not doing it, people will be like what's up? You're not doing it, I don't have to do it. "

Lammons, 5-10 1/2, 171, 4.37 seconds in the 40 yard dash , of Plantation, Florida has high interest in the Hogs and is planning a summer visit. His lead recruiter defensive line coach Charlie Partridge, who's a Plantation graduate, is a key reason for his desire to see the Hogs.

When Partridge and Arkansas signed South Plantation South running back Alex Collins in February, Lammons said that increased his awareness and interest in the Hogs.

"It did, because he's a very good player," Lammons said. "He's a leader on his team. I played against him like for two years."

As far as a major in college, Lammons is undecided.

"I want to do something I enjoy," he said. "I don't want to do anything boring. I want to do something I enjoy so I can stick with it."

Arkansas along with Alabama, Florida, Miami, Florida State and South Carolina are among the approximately 20 scholarship offers that Lammons reports.

College location isn't an issue for Lammons.

"It really doesn't matter, if I have a better opportunity to where I could build a better future," he said. "I'll definitely take that."
