Florida WR looking to officially visit

Receiver Stephen Louis is seeing more schools showing interest in his skills.

During Arkansas’ bye week, defensive line coach Charlie Partridge visited West Palm Beach (Fla.) Palm Beach Lakes High School and extended a scholarship offer.

“He came during the day,” said receiver Stephen Louis. “And that night I talked to him and they offered me.”

Louis, 6-2, 195, 4.50 seconds in the 40 dash, now has approximately 15 offers including, North Carolina State, Minnesota, Central Florida and Western Kentucky. He’s also hearing from Penn State, Indiana, Miami and the defending national champion. Video highlights CLICK HERE

“I’ve been talking to Alabama,” he said. “I’m not sure if they’re going to offer me just yet.”

He has more than 1,000 rushing yards and about 600 receiving yards. He said he’s a well rounded receiver.

“Big plays, I love big plays,” Louis said. “I’ma deep threat, I run the ball when you need me to I have moves. I don’t go down on first contact. I pride myself in that. I pride myself in blocking. I’ma complete receiver.”

Palm Beach Lakes Coach Willie Sneed III said Louis played quarterback in Friday’s game.

“He’s very physical, very aggressive, explosive,” Sneed said. “He loves the game, he’s very passionate about the game. He’s so versatile he can play any position.”

“He punts for us, kickoff return, punt return. He never leaves the field. He’s good at just about everything he does. He has a tremendous upside.”

Louis, who has a 2.8 grade point average, plans to enroll at his new school in January.

“I got all my stuff done last year,” Louis said. “My clearinghouse, my ACT, all my college ready stuff. I got that done last spring so I could have this type of opportunity I’m real serious. I want to have an edge when I get to college. I knew at the beginning of the year. My coach told me so I took advantage of that.”

A chance to play in the SEC is a big draw for Louis, who plans to take an official visit to Arkansas.

“Playing in the SEC is like pretty like playing in the NFL,” Louis said. “Playing in the SEC is pretty much gauges how well you would play on the next level.”

Louis, who was scheduled to officially visit North Carolina State over the weekend, has a bucket list of things he’s looking for in a schoool.

“Definitely the academics,” said Louis, who’s planning to major in engineering. “I want to be somewhere I can learn. I want to be somewhere I can stay four to five years. I want to see the type of players they produce because at the end of the day. I want to play in the NFL. The players they produce, the history they have there. That’s a big deal for me too.”
