Recruiting Thursday interviews

DE Demetrius Jackson will officially visit Arkansas on Dec. 13.

Defensive end Demetrius Jackson of Miami Washington High School started off Recruiting Thursday radio show by talking about his upcoming official visit to Arkansas on Dec. 13-15.

Jackson, 6-4, 225, 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash, is committed to Miami but spoke well of the Hogs' chances to land him. He raved about his lead recruiter linebackers coach Randy Shannon.

Highly recruited safety Kiy Hester, 6-2, 212, 4.48 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Wayne, (N.J.) De Paul Catholic and associate head coach Bryan Murray were up next. Hester has approximately 25 scholarship offers and plans to officially visit the Razorbacks on Dec. 13.

Cornerback Chris Murphy, 5-10, 180, 4.41 seconds of the 40 yard dash, of Marietta, (Ga.) Lassiter and his cornerback coach Cedric Dickerson followed Hester and Murray. Murphy signed an Arkansas athletic financial aid agreement with the Hogs and will enroll in January.

Miami Northwestern Coach Stephen Field wrapped up the show. He spoke of linebacker Mike Smith, a Miami commitment and receiver Jojo Robinson, a Florida State commitment and their Jan. 24th visit to Fayetteville.

He was a graduate assistant at Miami while Randy Shannon was the head coach and his respect and admiration for Shannon was evident during the interview.

Recruiting Thursday is on weekly on 93.3 FM in Little Rock, 96.3 FM in Fort Smith, 92.1 FM in Fayetteville and 104.3 FM in Harrison.
