Sunday recruiting tidbits

Guard Nick Babb can hit the outside jumper and finish strong to the basket.

Two Arkansas basketball signees, forward Trey Thompson and guard Nick Babb will play in the Mike Conley Jr. Arkansas vs.Tennessee All Star Classic at Little Rock Hall on Thursday. The game is expected to start at 7:30 pm after the girls game.

Thompson, 6-9, 260 of Forrest City and Babb, 6-4, 180 pounds of Arlington, (Texas) Martin will lead the Arkansas team of high school All Stars against the best from Tennessee. Both are expected to report to Fayetteville in couple of months.

Real Deal in the Rock basketball tournament kicks off on Friday with several Arkansas recruits, including guard Malik Monk- Arkansas Wings, guard KeVaughn Allen- Arkansas Hoyas, guard Terrance Ferguson- Mo Williams Elite, guard Deshawn Williams- Arkansas Hawk and guard Rashawn Langston- Arkansas Hawks.

Some of the top prospects in the nation that plan to participate are guard Malik Newman- Mo Williams Elite, forward Detric Lawson- Team Penny, center Doral Moore- Atlanta Express, forward Chris Silva-SportsU and forward Daniel Purifoy-Atlanta Express.

Razorback point guard commitment Jabril Durham, 6-1, 180 pounds of Seminole State College in Oklahoma made his official visit to Arkansas Friday until today. He arrived Thursday night with his parents but didn't start the visit until Friday.

He said the visit reconfirmed his decision to be a Hog. He felt a family atmosphere during the visit. Enjoyed spending times with the coaches and players.

Durham plans to sign with his NLI at his school on Wednesday.

He chose the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Texas A&M, Western Kentucky, Marquette and several others.

Highland receiver Deon Stewart plans to visit Arkansas on Tuesday with his coach. He tweeted out a photo of a handwritten letter from Coach Bret Bielema sdaying he was looking forward to having Deon on campus.

Arkansas will host numerous sophomore prospects on Saturday. Some expected to visit are Bentonville quarterback Kasey Ford, Smackover receiver Jordan Jones, Prairie Grove tight end Dylan Soehner, Hope defensive end McTelvin Agim and quarterback Breylin Smith of Conway.

Running back Kendall Bussey of New Orleans Isidore Newman broke the school record of 10.60 in the 100 meters with a time of 10.50 Thursday night. He said he's looking to visit Arkansas at end of April or early May. He's a Nebraska commit.

Running back Karan Higdon, 5-9, 190, 4.46 of Sarasota, (Fla.) Riverview said he could possibly visit Arkansas on June 15-17. He's a South Florida commitment.

Bryant sophomore defensive lineman Cameron Murray, 6-3, 285 visited Arkansas State on Friday. He's on Arkansas' radar.

Arkansas defensive end commitment Hjalte Froholdt will attend school at IMG Academy in Bradenton, Florida. He hopes to be in the states in late June.

Offensive lineman Keaton Sutherland of Flower Mound, Texas Marcus plans to visit the Hogs next Saturday.

North Little Rock receiver K.J. Hill will play for Team Penny in this weekend's Real Deal in the Rock.

Highly recruited running back Chris Warren III of Rockwall, Texas and his mother are still on for visiting for Arkansas' spring game on April 26.
