Hogs score 15 in blowout win

— Eric Fisher and Brian Anderson each hit home runs as Arkansas beat Northwestern State 15-3 Wednesday at Baum Stadium.

The No. 24 Razorbacks recorded 13 hits for the second consecutive day. Arkansas (27-16) had nine players record at least one hit and four players had multi-hit games.

The Razorbacks trailed only briefly after Nathan Lyons hit a solo home run for Northwestern State in the top of the second inning. Lyons' hit came off freshman starter Alex Phillips, who didn't allow any other runs on five hits in three innings.

Arkansas took the lead with a four-run rally in the bottom of the second. Jake Wise had a 2-run double in the inning, while Fisher and Tyler Spoon each had RBI singles.

Fisher added his team-leading seventh home run the next inning with a two-run hit into the right field bullpen. It was the junior's fifth home run in the last nine games.

Anderson's three-run home run hugged the inside of the left field foul pole to extend Arkansas' lead to 9-1 in the fourth inning. The Razorbacks added two more runs in the fifth inning and four runs in the eighth.

Northwestern State (22-19) used seven pitchers. Starter Devin Bear took the loss after giving up four runs in 1 2/3 innings.

Freshman Dominic Taccolini was the winning pitcher for Arkansas. The right-hander threw two scoreless innings and struck out three batters pitching his second consecutive day.

The Razorbacks are scheduled to host Auburn Friday night in the first of a three-game SEC series.
