— On the second official night of winter, Arkansas had to overcome an icy start to beat Wisconsin-Milwaukee 84-54 Monday.

Playing in front of a crowd of 7,725 fans, the Razorbacks (9-2) missed their first six shots of the game and shot just 39.4 percent from the field in the first half.

Arkansas' slow start was matched by the Panthers, who made just 8 of 26 shots (30.8 percent), including 3 of 13 beyond the arc, during the first 20 minutes of play.

Led by Bobby Portis and Michael Qualls, the Razorbacks shot much better in the second half.

The pair scored the first eight points for Arkansas and finished with 18 and 17, respectively.

Portis also hauled in 10 rebounds, registering the first double-double of the season for the Razorbacks.

Ky Madden was the only other Arkansas player in double figures, finishing with 15 points, six assists and four rebounds.

Wisconsin-Milwaukee (5-8) was led by Matt Tiby and Steve McWhorter, who scored 15 and 13 points, respectively.

The Panthers finished the game shooting only 28.8 percent from the field.

Arkansas' next game is Dec. 28 against Northwestern State. The game is scheduled to tip at 2:30 p.m. and will air on the SEC Network.
