Arkansas to open spring practice March 16

Arkansas quarterback Brandon Allen warms up prior to a 2013 practice at Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

— Arkansas' spring football practices will begin Sunday, March 16, the program announced Wednesday.

The 15 practices will last a total of five weeks, culminating in the annual Red-White Game at 1 p.m. on April 26. The team won't practice the week of March 24 during the university's spring break.

There is no word yet as to whether practices will be open to fans. Coach Bret Bielema had two open practices last season prior to the spring game.

Arkansas also announced it will hold its annual Pro Day on March 5. Four former Razorbacks - center Travis Swanson, defensive end Chris Smith, defensive tackle Robert Thomas and kicker Zach Hocker - have been invited to the NFL's Scouting Combine and should be among those participating at Arkansas' Pro Day.
