Tuesday recruiting tidbits

Highly recruited receiver Malachi Dupre is related to Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith.

Receiver Malachi Dupre of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis said his cousin and Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith will visit his school on Thursday.

Dupre, 6-3, 192, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, said he's considering a midweek official visit to Arkansas.

Offensive tackle Andrew Mike, 6-7, 275, 5.05 of Tucson, (Ariz.) Sabino said offensive line coach Sam Pittman will visit his school on Thursday. He officially visits Arkansas this weekend. He visited Washington on Nov. 29. He plans to visit Florida on Jan. 24 and is considering several schools for a Jan. 31 trip.

Junior running back Chris Warren III is going in for his three month check-up today from ACL surgery.

Warren, 6-2, 227, 4.4 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Rockwall, Texas is considered to be one of the top junior prospects in the nation after rushing 174 times for 1,059 yards and 13 touchdowns as a sophomore. He had 747 yards and 11 touchdowns before his injury.

He and his mother plan to visit Arkansas in Feb. or for the spring game.

Junior linebacker Quarte Sapp, 6-2, 200, 4.65 of Alpharetta, (Ga.) Milton is a strong candidate to receive an offer from Arkansas in the near future. As reported on Monday, he plans to visit several schools, including Arkansas this spring.

Junior linebacker Roquan Smith, 6-2, 204, 4.54 of Montezuma, (Ga) Macon County said he talked with cornerbacks coach Taver Johnson on Monday night and went over possible dates for a visit. He has numerous offers, including Arkansas, Clemson, South Carolina, Auburn, Tennessee and UCLA.

Former White Hall LB-RB Tim Cook of Eastern Arizona College received a scholarship offer from Cincinnati on Monday. He plans to graduate in Dec. of 2014.

Linebacker Kenny Young of River Ridge, (La.) Curtis tweeted out that his five official visits would be Arkansas, Texas A&M, LSU, Oklahoma State and UCLA.

Junior cornerback Deven Hammond of Brusly, Louisiana said he'll visit Arkansas on Feb. 15.

Athlete Toney Hawkins of Morrilton committed to UCA last weekend.
