— There were many great plays during The Opening 7-on-7 competition, but none any better than North Little Rock receiver KJ Hill’s touchdown reception on Wednesday.

Hill scored on his signature route, Slugo, a slant and go and it was selected as the day’s top play. One of the top defensive backs at The Opening gave up the touchdown.

“He bit, it was dude that won the fastest man,” Hill said. “He caught back up a little bit and the ball was under thrown, so he jumped and I jumped and I won. He turned around and I had to put a move on him and shook him and another dude came and I just had to burn him into the end zone.”

“The crowd went crazy.”

Charging Wildcats Coach Brad Bolding wasn't surprised.

"That's K.J. just being K.J.," said Bolding, who worked the event."He makes those type of plays all the time."

Hill, 6-1, 192 pounds and the Land Sharks went 0-4 on Wednesday, but came back the next day to advance to the championship game that was nationally televised on ESPNU.

In the previous game, two defenders injured Hill's jaw while tackling him and forced him to sit out most of the game.

“I was hurt, but I said 'this is the championship so I have to ball out',” Hill said. “I tried to help my team win, but we just came up short. We had fun, that was the main thing.”

He reveal three of his top five, Alabama, Florida and Oregon in no particular order while at the event. He plans tp announce his other two schools at a later date.
