Stacy Lewis was only three shots off the lead when the final round of the Women's British Open started, but after firing a 6-over 78, she had to settle for a tie for 12th place.

The defending British Open champion didn't handle the wind at Royal Birkdale Country Club very well, making only one birdie and seven bogeys.

American Mo Martin won the tournament, her first victory in a major, by shooting an even-par 72 and finishing the weekend at 1-under.

She was the only golfer to finish with a score under par, while Shanshan Feng and Suzann Petersen tied for second with an even-par score.
