North Carolina RB looking to visit Hogs

Running back Reggie Gallaspy is planning to visit Arkansas this week.

Running back Reggie Gallaspy has medium interest in Arkansas, but that could change should the Hogs offer and he likes what he sees during a visit.

“I’m mainly focusing on the ones who have offered,” Gallaspy said. “Those are the schools I’m paying the most attention to The other guys, I worry about them later it, depends if the offer or not. It’s easier when you have an offer so you can really pay more attention, listen to details and all that type stuff.”

Gallaspy, 5-11, 215 pounds, 4.53 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Greensboro (N.C.) Southern Guilford has approximately 16 scholarship offers from schools that include Louisville, Michigan State, Duke, North Carolina State, North Carolina, Wake Forest and Vanderbilt.

He hopes to visit Fayetteville during the summer. Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas visited the school and attended a practice during the spring evaluation period that ended on Saturday.

“He said there’s a possible offer,” Gallaspy said. “He said he wanted to make sure he looked at every guy he’s recruiting right now and make sure he talks to the head coach and offer the right guys that fit into their program. He came to a practice and said I would really fit their program.”

Gallaspy had 282 carries for 1,704 yards and 26 touchdowns as a junior and 1,751 yards and 20 touchdowns on 177 carries as a sophomore.

“I’m more of a north and south runner,” said Gallaspy, who has a 3.5 grade point average. “Mainly between the guards and tackles is my strong suit. I have great speed on the edge, good hands.”

He plans to make his college decision sometime during the season.
