— Dallas Keuchel was named the American League Player of the Week Tuesday.

The left-hander went 2-0 last week while striking out 14 batters and walking one. He allowed two earned runs in 17 1/3 innings for an ERA of 1.02. Opponents had a .153 batting average against him.

The pair of games improved his record to 6-2 and lowered his ERA to 2.55 on the season.

He is the third Astros left-hander to win the award, after Bob Knepper in 1981 and Joe Sambito in 1980. He is the first Astros pitcher to win the award since Roy Oswalt did in 2008.
