PA's Kelley praises sophomore Fells

Special to the Arkansas Democrat-Gazette/CHRIS BRASHERS - 10/03/2014 - Pulaski Academy RB Myles Fells explodes for a big gain during action at Rector Field in Little Rock, October 3, 2014

Pulaski Academy Coach Kevin Kelley believes sophomore running back Myles Fells will be another Bruin that goes on to play on the major college level.

.Fells, 5-10, 185 pounds, 4.5 seconds in the 40-yard dash, has rushed 62 times for 538 yards and 8 touchdowns and had 12 receptions for 134 yards and 3 touchdowns this season. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Kelley said Fells made strong gains in the offseason and added about 30 pounds of muscle while increasing his bench press by about 80 pounds.

“He loves to work, he loves the practice, not a lot of kids love to practice,” Kelley said. “He practices hard and he’s always asking questions about little things here and there. What can I do here? What can I do there to get better? ”

Fells, whose father Kenny played running back for Henderson State and was drafted by the Washington Redskins in the 1986 NFL draft, is drawing interest from Arkansas, Auburn, Ole Miss and Oklahoma State

“He’s smart he knows he's a sophomore and doesn't know a lot right now," Kelley said. "He wants to get those things corrected as soon as possible.”

The work ethic and being coachable makes Fells fun to coach.

“He’s just an absolute joy to have as a player,” Kelley said. “He’s going to be a fantastic college player for somebody. I'm just glad I got him a couple more years after this one.”
