FAYETTEVILLE — Arkansas linebacker Brooks Ellis was named the community service member of the week Tuesday by the Southeastern Conference.
The league cited Ellis' athletic, academic and volunteer endeavors for the recognition. A sophomore kinesiology major, Ellis has the team's highest cumulative grade point average, according to the SEC, and has worked with Boys & Girls Club and Special Olympics.
Ellis has recorded 20 tackles through three games this season. He had 8 tackles, 4 pass breakups and forced a fumble in the Razorbacks' 49-28 win at Texas Tech last weekend.
