The Recruiting Guy

Texas junior high on Hogs

Arkansas head coach Bret Bielema is all smiles after his offense scored a TD against Texas Tech in the 4th q during their game at Jones AT&T Stadium in Lubbock Saturday on Sept. 13, 2014.

Junior athlete Aubrey White visited Arkansas during the spring and is looking forward to a return trip in the near future.

“It was a small town that had full support for their Hogs,” White said. “My dad used to run track for Grambling and played football also. So he said it was a great school to attend. The facilities we're unbelievable and the new jerseys were sick.”

White, 6-1, 190, 4.55 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Wylie, Texas reports having seven scholarship offers from Arkansas, Oklahoma, Nebraska, Houston and others. He rushed 90 times for 547 yards and 4 touchdowns as a sophomore. Video highlights CLICK HERE

“Arkansas is a good fit, they treat the players like royalty, which is good,” White said.

He’s appreciative of the Hogs' interest.

“Arkansas is a big time program, so just being notice by them is a huge achievement,” White said. “I think I can make a huge statement coming into Arkansas.”

White is planning to attend Arkansas’ Sept. 27 matchup with Texas A&M in Arlington, Texas and Alabama game in Fayetteville Oct. 11. He said he’s being recruited by running backs coach Joel Thomas and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings.

He lists Arkansas, Oklahoma and Maryland as his top three schools.

“But nothing is set in stone, just how they’re looking right now,” White said.

White isn’t shy on confidence.

“I am dangerous with the ball in my hands and I don't get tackled by only one person,” White said. “It takes five or the whole team to bring me down.”

Should he decide to be a Razorback, White said he’ll add a lot to the team.

“I promise the leadership I bring and swag I carry for the team will be unbelievable,” White said. “We would be taking over the SEC and bring home a BCS championship. I’ve been in All American games, I know what it takes to win at the biggest stage.”
