A pair of former Arkansas stars squared off in a spring training game Wednesday.

James McCann won the individual battle, going 2-for-3 with a double against Dallas Keuchel, but Keuchel came out with the win, as the Astros beat the Tigers 3-2.

Both players have enjoyed successful springs. McCann - who ended the day 2-for-4 - is now batting .375 during the preseason, while Keuchel - who allowed one earned run in 5 2/3 innings - improved his ERA to 1.80.

Keuchel also struck out five batters and walked only one.

The Tigers have already awarded McCann their backup catcher spot and the Astros have named Keuchel as their Opening Day starter.
