Austin Cantrell gets ready to anchor his school's winning 4x100 relay on Tuesday.

Arkansas nearly landed their third commitment for the 2016 class on Tuesday.

Defensive end Caleb Roddy, 6-5, 241, 4.9 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Denham Springs, (La.) said he came very close to committing to the Hogs during his visit on Tuesday. He said the coaches and the people were awesome.

He previously visited TCU, LSU, Mississippi State and several others, but the Arkansas visit was by far his favorite.

Roddy has 13 offers from schools like Arkansas, Arizona State, North Carolina, Illinois and others. His grandmother and girlfriend accompanied him on the visit. They plan to go back at 8 am today to learn about academics and will leave about noon. He'll visit Tennessee on Thursday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas tight end signee Austin Cantrell of Roland, Okla. won the shot put with a toss of 56-5 at a meet on Tuesday. He anchored the winning 4x100 relay with a 10.7 split. The time was 43.5.

Razorback defensive line target Kendell Jones, 6-5, 364 of Killeen, (Texas) Shoemaker set a school record in the squat with a lift of 635 pounds on Tuesday. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Linebacker Jimmy McKinney, 6-1, 230, 4.62 of Oologah, Okla. said he'll attend Arkansas' scrimmage on Saturday. He has 10 offers and is hoping for one from the Hogs. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Running back Matt Falcon, 6-1, 220, 4.41 of Southfield, Mich. said Arkansas is one of his top five schools because of the running game and his relationship with Coach Bret Bielema and offensive coordinator Dan Enos.

He said he'll probably take an official visit to Fayetteville. Michigan, Oregon, Tennessee and Arizona State are the other four schools. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Sophomore receiver Kentre Patterson of East Lansing, Mich. visited Arkansas on Tuesday to check out the football and track programs. He had a time of 14.5 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles as a freshman.

Hog linebacker signee Derrick Graham of Wauchula ((Fla.) Hardee is up to 240 pounds. He plans to report to Fayetteville May 24.

Tight end-linebacker Stephen Omorogbe, 6-4, 240 of Woodstock, (Ga.) River Ridge said he plans to attend an Arkansas camp this summer. He has offers from Army, Cornell, Harvard, Georgia State and Mercer. Video highlights CLICK HERE
