CBS Sports Network national recruiting analyst Tom Lemming likes the commitments Arkansas has landed from Louisiana.

Quarterback Cole Kelley, 6-7, 240 pounds of Lafayette (La.) Teurlings Catholic pledged to the Hogs over the weekend and picked the Razorbacks over scholarship offers from Oklahoma State, Kentucky, Colorado State, Tulane, Southern Miss and others.

“He definitely ranks among the top three quarterbacks in Louisiana,” Lemming said. “It’s a loaded year. Maybe the best year out of the last ten years.”

Kelley completed 198 of 368 passes for 3,001 yards and 31 touchdowns with 9 interceptions this past season. Lemming said Kelley plays in the most competitive part of the state.

“He’s from a very good area,” Lemming said. “Anywhere between New Orleans and Baton Rouge and LaFayette metro is where 90 precent of the top players in Louisiana are located. He’s a game manager and he’s a leader on the field. I gave him three star plus He’s between a three and a four, but closer to a four.”

Defensive lineman Briston Guidry, 6-3, 287, 4.8, committed to the Hogs over about 11 scholarship offers, including LSU, Alabama, Ole Miss and Texas A&M. He recorded 77 tackles, 10 tackles for loss and 10 sacks as a junior.

“He’s a four star,” Lemming said. “He’s another really good ball player. He’s a big-time guy. A very good athlete. He can run, he has loose hips.”
