Franks awarded McWhorter Scholarship

University of Arkansas student-athlete Nathanel Franks is a finalist for the Rhodes Scholar program.

— Arkansas track & field athlete Nathanael Franks has been named the Southeastern Conference's male recipient of the H. Boyd McWhorter Scholarship.

The scholarship will award Franks $15,000 for postgraduate work. He was a finalist last fall for the prestigious Rhodes Scholarship.

Franks is scheduled to graduate next week with a master's degree in accounting. He earned a master's degree in business management last year, and holds bachelor's degrees in chemistry and physics with an emphasis in biophysics.

According to his bio, Franks has studied abroad in Greece and Turkey, and has completed an internship with the Kellogg Company in Rogers. He is also a finalist for the NCAA's Walter Byers Postgraduate Scholarship.
