The Recruiting Guy

Highly touted Texas WR commits to Hogs

NWA Democrat-Gazette/Michael Woods --04/07/2015--w@NWAMICHAELW... University of Arkansas running backs coach Jemal Singleton works with the running backs during practice Tuesday afternoon at the Razorback Stadium in Fayetteville.

Highly touted receiver Kofi Boateng has committed to Arkansas.

Boateng, 6-1, 180, 4.6 seconds in the 40 yard dash, of Arlington, (Texas) Lamar has 30 scholarship offers from schools like Arkansas, Ole Miss, Wisconsin, Arizona State, Washington and Kansas.

He picked the Hogs over the Rebels because of the relentless recruiting of the Arkansas staff and the feeling he got while on an unofficial visit in June.

National recruiting analyst Tom Lemming of CBS Sports Network rates Boateng a four-star prospect. Running backs coach Jemal Singleton was his lead recruiter.

Boateng recorded 66 receptions for 1.023 yards and 15 touchdowns for the Class 5A Vikings. He also participates in track and runs a leg on the 4x100 meter relay and the 4x200 while also having a best of 14.68 seconds in the 110 meter hurdles.

He's Arkansas' No. 13 commitment for the 2016 class. Video highlights CLICK HERE
