— Norm DeBriyn was named the interim executive director of the Razorback Foundation Monday.

The former Arkansas baseball coach will take over when current executive director Sean Rochelle steps down Sept. 1.

"During this time of transition, I appreciate the confidence Jeff Long and Ken Mourton have expressed in me to lead the Razorback Foundation,” DeBriyn said. “I’m looking forward to the opportunity to work with the outstanding team we have here at the Razorback Foundation."

Rochelle was promoted to his position in Feb. 2013. DeBriyn will be the fourth person to serve as executive director of the Razorback Foundation since July 2012.

A press release from the foundation did not give a timetable as to when a full-time executive director will be hired, but a search committee that includes athletics director Jeff Long has been formed.

DeBriyn will retire from the Razorback Foundation Jan. 8, 2016, ending a 45-year association with the Razorbacks.

"I thank God for longevity and appreciate the support through the years from all the Razorback Foundation members, fans and colleagues I have worked with through my career at Arkansas," DeBriyn said.

He spent his first 33 years at Arkansas as the head coach of the baseball team, compiling a 1,161-650-6 (.641) record and making four trips to the College World Series. His last 12 years at Arkansas have been with the Razorback Foundation.
