The Recruiting Guy

Sunday recruiting tidbits

Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith helps kids work on their diving catches during the University of Arkansas Youth Football Camp.

It appears Arkansas will have to wait a day or two to know the status of the two official visitors.

The Hogs hosted safety Brandon Scott and linebacker Kendrick Jackson over the weekend.

Scott, 6-0, 190 pounds, of Destrehan, La. said he wants to go home and talk things over with his mother before making a decision. He said Monday is likely when he'll announce.

He said the community, players and fans were the highlights of the trip. He hung out with Henre' Toliver, Rohan Gaines, Santos Ramirez and Josh Liddell.

Scott said receivers coach Michael Smith and defensive backs coach Clay Jennings were recruiting him hard during the visit.

He's officially visited Central Florida, He also has offers from Nebraska, Iowa, Arizona State, Kentucky, Minnesota and others. Former Hog safety Jerico Nelson is a volunteer coach at Destrehan and has talked to Scott and his mother.

Linebacker Kendrick Jackson of Haynesville, La. said the Arkansas fans knew who he was and made him feel special. Linebacker Dwayne Eugene was his host. He no longer counts himself as an Arizona commitment.

Jackson said he'll talk to his mother and brother and make a decision in a couple of days.

He arrived Saturday for his official visit and left about 10:30 this morning.

Jackson, 6-0, 238, 4.8 has scholarship offers from Arkansas, Louisville, Arizona, Tulsa, Memphis, Louisiana Tech, Hawaii and others.

Receivers coach Michael Smith is the lead recruiter on Scott and Jackson.
