Montgomery, who played for the Razorbacks from 1968-70, is one of eight inductees who will be enshrined March 30 in Austin, Texas. He will be the 13th member of the hall of fame with ties to the University of Arkansas.

Montgomery finished his career as the Razorbacks' all-time leading passer with 4,590 yards and 29 touchdowns. In his three seasons as starting quarterback Arkansas had a record of 28-5.

His career completion percentage of .560 was a school record for 40 years.

In 1969, Montgomery was starting quarterback in the famed "Big Shootout," a No. 1 vs. No. 2 regular season finale against Texas that was attended by President Richard Nixon. The quarterback was 0-3 in games against Texas, but 18-0 against all other SWC teams.

Montgomery has also been inducted into the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame and University of Arkansas Sports Hall of Honor. A native of McKinney, Texas, Montgomery lives in Dallas.

The Southwest Conference Hall of Fame is supported by the Arkansas Sports Hall of Fame in North Little Rock and the Texas Sports Hall of Fame in Waco, Texas.
