Arkansas helps NCAA cause, tops LSU by 22

— Arkansas recorded a strong win for its NCAA Tournament résumé Sunday.

The Razorbacks beat LSU 63-41 at Bud Walton Area in a game between a pair of teams on the bubble with one week remaining in the regular season. Arkansas continued a late-season hot stretch, winning for the fifth time in seven games.

Kelsey Brooks scored 20 points to lead the Razorbacks (16-10, 6-8 SEC). Fellow sophomore Jessica Jackson added 17 points and 13 rebounds.

Arkansas began the game on a 17-2 run and led 32-24 at halftime. The Razorbacks' defense held its fifth SEC opponent under 50 points as LSU made only 27 percent of its field goal attempts.

Jhasmin Bowen had 13 points and eight rebounds, and Melissa Wolff added 12 points and nine rebounds for Arkansas. Senior Calli Berna scored only one point, but had nine assists.

The Razorbacks won despite their bench being held scoreless.

LSU pulled to within 57-49 on a Dashawn Harden 3-pointer with 7:12 remaining, but the Razorbacks responded with a 13-0 run to put the game away.

Harden scored 14 points to lead the Tigers (15-11, 9-5). Danielle Ballard added 13 points.

Arkansas has another chance to boost its tournament profile with a home game against No. 11 Kentucky on Thursday. The Razorbacks close the regular season at Missouri next weekend before playing in the SEC Tournament in North Little Rock.
