Arkansas men 3rd, women 7th in preseason

— Arkansas' men are ranked No. 3 and the women are ranked No. 7 in the preseason indoor rankings released by the U.S. Track & Field and Cross Country Coaches Association.

The USTFCCA poll uses computer analysis to determine which teams will score highest at the NCAA meet. Arkansas will host the NCAA indoor championships in March.

Florida and Oregon are ranked ahead of Arkansas in the men's rankings. The Gators and Razorbacks have won the last two national indoor championships.

Arkansas' women are ranked behind SEC foes Florida (1), Texas A&M (2), Georgia (4) and Kentucky (6).

Both Arkansas teams will open the indoor season this Friday with a meet in Fayetteville. The Razorbacks will host Texas in a dual meet on Jan. 16. The Longhorns are ranked No. 3 in the women's poll and No. 8 in the men's poll.
