Arkansas Razorbacks Football assistant coach - Running Backs Joel Thomas

Athlete Arico Evans said Arkansas running backs coach Joel Thomas will visit his school and also make an in-home visit today

Evans, 6-2, 190, 4.50 of Dallas Hillcrest is a Kansas commitment. He will officially visit Texas Tech this weekend, TCU the following weekend and Arkansas Jan. 30. At this time, he doesn't have an offer from the Hogs but is definitely a strong candidate.

Arkansas coach Bret Bielema said on Twitter that he's in California for the start of contact period that starts today. He said coaches will be in Arkansas, Texas, Oklahoma, Louisiana and Florida today.

Arkansas will visit the school of an SEC commitment today. The prospect said he's interested in making an official visit to Fayetteville.

Arkansas receivers coach Michael Smith talked to safety Hunter Dale of River Ridge, (La.) John Curtis on Wednesday and asked him to keep Jan. 30 open for a possible official visit. He and Arkansas freshman cornerback Henre' Toliver played on the same team until the 8th grade.

Cornerback Jarek Taylor of Madison, (Ala.) Bob Jones said he's been talking to defensive coordinator Robb Smith and defensive line coach Rory Segrest. He said the two coaches were going to watch his film and decide on a possible offer.

Arkansas safety commitment Dre Greenlaw said he's running the 200 meters and possibly the 100 this spring.

Razorback tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. will visit Hope on Friday to check on high recruited junior defensive end McTelvin Agim.

Arkansas punter commitment Blake Johnson of Los Alamitos, Calif. was named first team All State by Maxpreps for all classifications.

Brad Winton of Juco Recruiting reports Arkansas and Tennessee will see forward Kimani Jackson, 6-8 of New Mexico JC today.

Arizona linebacker commitment Kendrick Jackson of Haynesville, La. will be making an official visit to Arkansas Jan. 31. He's one of the prospects that's committed elsewhere that wanted to hold off in going public about his plans to visit until now. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Arkansas tight ends coach Barry Lunney Jr. and receivers coach Michael Smith will visit Razorback receiver commitment K.J. Hill at North Little Rock high school and later do an in- home visit today. He will officially visit Alabama this weekend.

Hog reciever commit Deon Stewart of Highland will be running the 200 meters , 4x400 along with triple jumping at the Arkansas High School Invitational meet at UA indoor facility on Saturday.

Arkansas defensive backs coach Clay Jennings will meet with cornerback Nate Dalton of Houston Cypress Falls Friday before Dalton leaves for his official visit to Fayetteville this weekend.

Arkansas visited linebacker James King of Miami Washington this morning and set up his official visit for Jan. 23.

Lunney will visit Pulaski Robinson to check on junior athlete T.J. Hammonds today or Friday.

Coach Bret Bielema will have dinner with Arkansas punter commitment Blake Johnson and his father later today. Hearing Bielema is visiting the school of a highly recruited defensive prospect while in California.

Arkansas defensive backs coach Clay Jennings visited Miami American this morning to visit with Kentucky cornerback commit Jeremiah Dinson.

It's very unlikely that Utah linebacker-defensive end Porter Gustin makes an official visit to Arkansas. He had dental surgery in December and that knocked him out of taking two trips during the month. He plans visits for USC, Arizona State and Ohio State in Jan. Because of his basketball schedule, he arrives on Saturday for his visits sand that rules out a mid-week visit.

If he was able to take visits in Dec., I feel confident he would've taken a trip to Fayetteville.

Arkansas linebacker commitment Derrick Graham will not be able to come to Fayetteville this weekend to hang out with other recruits. His older brother, P.J. is working out-of-state and won't be able to provide transportation.

Arkansas is visiting offensive tackle Toby Weathersby of Houston Westfield today. He'll arrive on Friday for an official visit.

Jennings also visited Miami Norland defensive back Carlton Davis, who's committed to Ohio St.

Miami American cornerback Jeremiah Dinson said his meeting with defensive backs coach Clay Jennings went good. He called Jennings a good dude and said he was real funny.

Dinson said if he decides to go, he might take an official visit to Fayetteville Jan. 30.

Thomas visited running back commitment Rawleigh Williams today. As reported earlier, he also visited athlete Arico Evans. He also visited Plano high school to check on highly regarded 2016 running back Brandon Stephens.

Defensive line coach Rory Segrest visited Moultrie, Ga. Colquitt defensive end T.J. Smith today.
