Smith switches commitment to Arkansas

Defensive end T.J. Smith has switched his commitment from Vanderbilt to Arkansas while on his official visit.

Smith, 6-3, 260 pounds of Moultrie, Ga. Colquitt picked the Hogs over Wake Forest, Vanderbilt, Missouri and others. He had a visits scheduled for Wake Forest this weekend and Missouri next weekend, but has decided to cancel them. Video highlights CLICK HERE

Smith and his mother arrived in Fayetteville Wednesday afternoon and will leave early in the morning.

Running backs coach Joel Thomas discovered Smith in North Carolina while recruiting the Tar Heel State back in the spring before Smith moved to Georgia. He and defensive line coach Rory Segrest have doubled teamed him during the recruiting process. Smith has spoken well of both.

He excels in the classroom and has 3.8 grade point average. He’s leaning towards majoring in business.
