Bryant D-lineman hoping for UA offer

Bryant defensive lineman Cameron Murray.

Bryant defensive lineman Cameron Murray has several scholarship offers, but attended Saturday’s Arkansas Advanced Camp in hopes of adding one from the Hogs.

He said defensive line coach Rory Segrest talked about his improvement.

“They said I’ve really improved since my 10th grade year and he told me I’ve improved 100 precent since last year,” Murray said. “That was a good thing to hear.”

Murray, 6-2, 280 has offers from Arizona, Arkansas State, North Texas, Kansas and Louisiana Tech while drawing interest from the Hogs, Oklahoma State, Vanderbilt, Memphis, Houston and others. Video highlights CLICK HERE

“I know I’ll be taking a visit to Arizona July 18th,” said Murray of future plans. As far as recruiting I know lot of people are about to jump on board such as Vanderbilt and Houston and Memphis should be offering me later this summer.”

Murray scored a 94.77 at the Nike SPARQ Combine at AT&T Stadium March 14 with recorded a time of 5.17 seconds in the 40, 27.3 vertical, 4.63 shuttle and the nation’s third best power ball toss of 45.5 feet. A day later, he posted a SPARQ rating of 103.50 at Dallas the Opening Regional.

Segrest’s coaching impressed Murray.

“He knew what he was talking about all of the time,” said a smiling Murray. “I really listed to him and he really helped me out He’s kind of funny guy.”
