The Razorbacks beat Ole Miss 5-2 Saturday at Baum Stadium to win the best-of-three series. Arkansas beat the Rebels in a three-game series for the first time since 2011.

Arkansas (14-13, 3-6 SEC) took the lead with a three-run rally with two outs in the fifth inning. With the Razorbacks trailing, Chad Spanberger hit an RBI single with the bases loaded to pull Arkansas within one run.

On the ensuing exchange between the Ole Miss pitcher and catcher, Bobby Wernes stole home plate to tie the game 2-2. Joe Serrano followed with an RBI single in the next at-bat to give the Razorbacks the lead for good.

Arkansas tacked on a run in the the seventh inning on Michael Bernal's RBI single and in the eighth with Tyler Spoon's solo home run. Spoon's hit came against Ole Miss reliever Wyatt Short, who hadn't allowed a run since Feb. 27.

Razorbacks reliever Zach Jackson pitched the final 2 1/3 innings to earn his second save of the year. Jackson, who worked around a bases loaded jam with no outs in the win Thursday, stranded two Ole Miss runners in scoring position in the top of the eighth inning.

Jackson struck out three batters Saturday to bring his total to nine strikeouts for the series.

Keaton McKinney and Jackson Lowery each pitched three innings for the Razorbacks. Lowery picked up the win in a relief appearance.

McKinney, who pitched four innings in a win over Memphis on Wednesday, struck out four batters. The freshman gave up the first run of the game when Austin Knight hit an RBI single for the Rebels in the second inning.

Ole Miss (14-14, 4-5) extended its lead to 2-0 on Connor Cloyd's RBI single in the top of the fifth inning. The Rebels stranded 10 base runners.

Freshman Will Stokes took the loss for Ole Miss after allowing three runs on two hits in 4 2/3 innings.

Arkansas will host Missouri State on Tuesday. The Razorbacks return to SEC play next weekend with a series at Auburn.
