Dykes hires Deffebaugh

— Arkansas has hired Tommy Deffebaugh as an assistant women's basketball coach.

Deffebaugh comes to the Razorbacks' staff from Fayetteville High School, where he was an assistant boys basketball coach at his alma mater.

Before coming home, Deffebaugh spent time as an assistant at South Florida, Western Michigan, Missouri State, Oral Roberts, Southern Illinois, Drury, Missouri-Rolla, Dartmouth and Tennessee Tech.

In all, he has 21 years of basketball coaching experience.

While a player at Fayetteville High, Deffebaugh was a two-time all-conference and all-state performer playing alongside Dykes. He scored 43 points in a game against Choctaw (Okla.), which was a school record when he graduated.

In college, Deffebaugh played at Division II Drury, where he was an honorable mention All-American in 1985.
