Illinois 6-8 lefty commits to Arkansas

Arkansas baseball received a verbal commitment from an Illinois left-hander on Wednesday.

Steven Sanchez (6-foot-8, 230 pounds) is a junior at Mundelein High School. He is ranked the 10th-best prospect in the state of Illinois by PrepBaseballReport.com.

He is the 13th player to commit to Arkansas in the class of 2018, according to a database at HogNation.net.

According to his PrepBaseballReport.com profile, Sanchez has a fastball that has been clocked at 87 mph and also throws a curveball and a change-up. His team was state runner-up earlier this year.
