— Arkansas baseball added a commitment over the weekend from one of the top prospects in Colorado.

Outfielder Bryce Matthews (6-foot-4, 175 pounds) chose the Razorbacks over interest from other programs, including Texas A&M, Texas and multiple Pac-12 schools. Matthews is rated the third-best prospect in Colorado for the class of 2019, according to PrepBaseballReport.com.

As a freshman, Matthews batted .300 with a home run and 13 RBI for Chaparral High School. He also had a perfect fielding percentage.

Matthews is also a basketball player at Chaparral and averaged 8.2 points and 4 rebounds per game as a freshman.

According to a database at HogNation.net, Matthews is the seventh commit for the Razorbacks in the class of 2019. Verbal commitments are non-binding.
