Friday recruiting tidbits

Highly recruited cornerback Jarques McClellion, an Arkansas commitment, plans to visit Fayetteville on July 21.

McClellion, 6-1, 180, 4.41 seconds in the 40-yard dash, of Delray Beach (Fla.) American Hertiage picked Arkansas over about 25 other scholarship offers, including Nebraska, Michigan State, Louisville, Stanford and Wisconsin without visiting the Hogs.

Others expected to visit on July 21, are cornerback commitment Korey Hernandez of Ellenwood (Ga.) Cedar Grove and receiver commitment Maleek Barkley of Austin (Texas) Lake Travis and his brother, receiver Isiaha Conner, a 2018 prospect.

Guard Mike Adewunmi, 6-5, 210 of Mansfield, (Texas) Lake Ridge said he plans to visit Arkansas August 1. He has scholarship offers from Oral Roberts, Rice, Boise State and Utah State. He plays for Urban DFW Elite during spring and summer ball.

As noted in today's recruiting column, outside linebacker Addison Gumbs said he will make an official visit to Arkansas this fall and the Alabama game is a possibility.

Gumbs, 6-4, 220, 4.6 of Hayward (Calif.) Stellar Prep has more than 20 offers.

Arkansas quarterback commitment Daulton Hyatt of Attila, Ala. said he talked to running back target Chase Hayden on Tuesday.
